Floating Offshore Wind has the potential to provide an effective solution for increasing energy demand of coastal communities around world if specific risks associated with this novel technology are understood and evaluated. In paper enhanced risk matrix methodology was developed assessment a generic FOWT through introduction third parameter namely ‘technology category’. The final score is calculated using average value all contributing parameters: consequence, likelihood category’ avoidance identical values. Individual data collection will eliminate biases conventional process. critical failure causes/hazards modes, ranked based on obtained scores, indicate Floater Unit as most hazardous supporting sub-structures corrosion its dominant cause. proposed validation ascertained comparison results two similar studies.
